Detection Technology strengthens commitment to UNICEF’s education efforts through Ahlström Collective Impact

Detection Technology, as a member of the Ahlström Collective Impact (ACI), reaffirms its commitment to UNICEF’s global education program in 2025. This continued collaboration highlights the company’s dedication to promoting children’s rights in business. Altogether, ACI’s investment in the initiative has now surpassed €750,000.
Education is a fundamental right for every child. It reduces inequality and poverty while fostering more stable societies where businesses can prosper.
However, children’s learning faces mounting global challenges. In low- and middle-income countries, up to 70% of 10-year-olds are unable to understand a basic written text. The crisis is particularly severe in sub-Saharan Africa. Simultaneously, the digital divide continues to widen, with many school-aged children living in households without internet access. Through ACI, support for UNICEF’s education initiatives directly addresses these issues.
ACI members contribute more than financial resources. For instance, UNICEF Finland organizes training for members of the ACI network, emphasizing how children’s rights intersect with business operations and corporate responsibility.
ACI is an internationally recognized network uniting public and private companies, foundations, shareholders, and employees to drive positive change in collaboration with UNICEF Finland. Together, we form a global alliance of change-makers who believe in the power of joint action. The network channels passion and courage into creating lasting societal impact for future generations.
The ACI initiative advances the realization of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Its investments are directed toward UNICEF programs that align with annually selected SDGs.
Established by the Eva Ahlström Foundation in 2020, the ACI network currently includes Ahlstrom, A. Ahlström, Ahlström Invest, Avain Yhtiöt, Destia, Detection Technology, Eva Ahlström Foundation, Glaston, Metsäkonepalvelu, M&J Recycling, Suominen, and the Walter Ahlström Foundation. Detection Technology joined the network in early 2022.
