Detection Technology granted ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certification

Detection Technology, a global leader in X-ray imaging solutions, today announced that it has been granted ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certification. In 2016, Detection Technology made a strategic decision to upgrade its certified ISO 9001:2008 quality management system and ISO 14001:2004 environmental management system to the latest ISO 2015 standards. In addition, the company decided to certify its newly established Beijing factory according to the ISO 14001:2015 standard requirements. The factory has been ISO 9001-certified since 2015.

Our move to the updated standards demonstrates our work to improve our quality and environmental performance and efficiency constantly. The upgrade has helped us to enhance the customer experience,” says Kai Utela, VP Operations at Detection Technology.

“In line with our goal to build sustainable business, we are happy to state that our operations meet the latest standard requirements, helping us to supply environmentally sound solutions, reduce carbon footprint, better manage waste and air emissions, and reduce water and energy consumption. We are proud to have been audited for both ISO 2015 standards without any non-conformities.”

The certificates were granted to the company’s Oulu site in Finland in November and the Beijing sites in December 2017. For the first time, the company earned certification under ISO 9001 in the year 2000 and ISO 14001 in 2006. Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance Ltd has audited and registered the company’s quality and environmental systems since then.

The new ISO 2015 standards include an increased focus on continuous improvement. The renewed standards also pay more attention to the leadership and commitment of management. ISO, the International Organization for Standardization, develops and publishes international standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges.
