Espoo, Finland. Detection Technology (DT) today announced that it will introduce a new company structure from 15th October, 2007. The change is driven by DT’s strategy and is targeted at creating an organization that is capable of capturing the opportunities DT sees for future growth in the X-Ray Imaging in the Medical, Security and Safety markets globally. The move is also aimed at increasing the customer oriented, efficient and quality working throughout the company.

“The need to image larger areas and dynamic movements, the need to Image faster and more accurately and the various new governmental policies as well as the growing need of integrating electronics further for reduced size and cost is opening up new growth opportunities for us, both in Medical- as well as in Security and Safety X-Ray Imaging,” said Detection Technology CEO Hannu Martola. “We believe that the close relationship with the leading customers, the solid technology base and the precise focus and strive for better can capitalize on these opportunities and enable us to increase the quality and efficiency of our operations for stable growth with our customers.”.

Under the new Organization, the current Business Lines organization will be split to two Business Units (BU): Medical BU and Security&Safety BU. Both BUs are responsible for the strategy and its implementation, customer interface and product management of their perspective businesses. The two BUs are also the owners of the new product development projects. The Medical BU will be headed by Dr. Chen Wu and the Security&Safety BU will be headed by Mr. Jussi Koskinen.

In addition DT will establish a new Engineering Unit to optimize all DT’s Technology and Product Development competences, Engineering will be Headed by Mr. Jyrki Still, former Head of DT Operations. Under the Engineering Unit DT will establish a new Project Management Department, Headed by Mr. Tero Ahola. Other Engineering Departments are Process Development, Technology, Electronics&System Design, Photodiode Center and Materials&Logistics.

The Production Unit will be Headed by Mr. Gao Zhenzhong and the Group Quality Headed by Ms. Qiu Junping. The Finance and Administration Unit is Headed by Mr. Petri Hiljanen.

The Members of the DT Management Group are Petri Hiljanen, Jussi Koskinen, Jyrki Still, Dr. Chen Wu and Hannu Martola.

DT expects that the new organization will enable DT to create better value to its customers with better quality and faster speed and to adapt to the changes in business environment and to manage the needed changes internally with better coordination with the customers.

Detection Technology contributes to the improvement of people’s health and security. It supports the growth of its customers in Medical- and Security and Safety Imaging by designing, marketing and manufacturing high performance, silicon photodiode-based XRay Imaging sensors. These sensors are being used in medical area in Computed Tomography (CT) and digital X-Ray equipment. The application areas in Safety and Security imaging are in digital X-ray linear cameras for example in truck, luggage and parcel scanning.
